‘Mysteries of Laura’ Gets Order for 3 More Episodes From NBC

Greg Berlanti series bumped up to 16 episodes for Season 2

NBC has ordered three additional episodes of “The Mysteries of Laura,” TheWrap has learned.

If no additional episodes are ordered, that would bring executive producer Greg Berlanti‘s sophomore drama’s total Season 2 order to 16 episodes — six short of the typical 22-episode season.

NBC has been tinkering with the season lengths on several of its shows in recent weeks. Freshman series “Superstore” and “Hot & Bothered,” both slated for midseason, were cut in October from 13 episodes to 11. Last week, “Blindspot,” which on Monday became the first new series of the season to earn a Season 2 renewal, had its order for its current season bumped to 23 episodes, as did executive producer Dick Wolf‘s “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.” and “Law & Order: SVU.”

Wednesday’s episode of “The Mysteries of Laura” drew a 1.2 ratings among adults 18-49 in Nielsen live-plus-same day numbers, finishing fourth among English-language broadcast offerings in its 8 p.m. timeslot.

The series stars Debra Messing as a New York City police detective balancing work and family and is produced by Warner Bros. Television. with Berlanti Productions and Kapital Entertainment.
