“The show must go on” for Miss Piggy and Kermit, who appeared together on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Monday night, despite a recent messy and highly-publicized breakup that left the pair unable to stand the sight of each other.
Host Jimmy Kimmel asked the duo why they broke up in the first place, sparking a debate over unresolved issues.
“Piggy and I had a great relationship for many many years, but we sort of wanted different things,” said Kermit.
“It’s the usual laundry list you know?” Miss Piggy added. “Put the lid down, closing the refrigerator door, not doing the dishes while taking a bath in the sink? … I like it to be sanitary!”
“I feel like the breakup of the Soviet Union didn’t get as much coverage as your breakup did,” Kimmel said, to which Miss Piggy described herself as the “Donald Trump of love — everything I do is huge!”
Kimmel seemed to hit a sore spot with Piggy when he projected a picture of Kermit’s new girlfriend, Denise, onto the screen. Kermit didn’t reveal much about his new boo, although he did mention that she is one of the heads of marketing at ABC and is “old enough.”
Miss Piggy doesn’t have a new boyfriend yet — she has been dating, but can’t seem to find an appropriate suitor because she has “high standards” and a “vigorous application process.”
To help out, Kimmel set up a Tinder profile for Miss Piggy, adding in the About Me section: “Let’s get this pig in a blanket.”
The duo also talked about their upcoming show “The Muppets,” which will premiere Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Kermit revealed that it is a behind-the-scenes look at a late-night talk show that Kermit is executive producing.
“I basically do everything you do, just better and in high heels,” Miss Piggy told Kimmel.
