Hot off "Mud" and "The Tree of Life," rising star Tye Sheridan has signed on to join John Travolta in heist film "The Forger," which is being produced and co-financed by Code Entertainment and The Solution Entertainment Group.
Philip Martin is directing the film, which will be produced by Code's Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt and Eugene Musso, along with Prospect Park's Rob Carliner. Jonathan Dana and Randi Michel will executive produce alongside The Solution's Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel. Anson Downes and Linda Favila will serve as co-executive producers.
Written by Richard D’Ovidio ("The Call"), "The Forger" follows former child art prodigy and petty thief Ray Cutter (Travolta), who arranges to buy his way out of prison so he can spend time with his ailing son (Sheridan), only to be forced to change his plans and commit one last big job for the syndicate that financed his early release.
The project is currently in pre-production, as principal photography will start in October in Boston.
The Solution is handling international sales at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival, with WME Global and ICM Partners handling domestic sales.

Sheridan made his feature film debut alongside Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain in Terrence Malick’s "The Tree of Life." He was most recently seen opposite Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon in Jeff Nichols' critically acclaimed drama "Mud." The up-and-coming actor next stars alongside Nicolas Cage in David Gordon Green's "Joe," which will make its world premiere at the upcoming Venice Film Festival and North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Sheridan, who will soon begin filming "Dark Places" with Charlize Theron, is repped by WME and Mosaic and WME.
