MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore’ to Feature All-New Cast in Season 3

Casting director Doron Ofir is prepared to bid farewell to Snooki, The Situation, Pauly D and co.

"Jersey Shore" without Snooki?

That could be the plan.

In a story about Doron Ofir, the casting director behind MTV’s hit reality show "Jersey Shore," BlackBook reports that the entire cast will be replaced for the series’ third season.

An individual at MTV Networks in New York told TheWrap "we haven’t even aired Season 2 so how can we comment on Season 3?"

Still, MTV has played coy in the past regarding "Jersey Shore" news.

When initial reports surfaced that the second season would be set in Miami, the cable network adamantly denied the move. Sure enough, the second season will take the self-described guidos and guidettes from New Jersey to the sunny beaches of Florida.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly reports that there will be some new faces when the series returns to Seaside Heights, N.J., in July to finish filming the second season.

It’s unknown how many new people will be added to the show, or how many cast members will leave, but don’t be surprised if JWOWW bows out as soon as she can.

Us Magazine

cites an insider who says that "she doesn’t want to be on the show anymore [because] she isn’t friends with them."

Salaries could be the reason for all the upcoming cast changes. Apparently Snooki, The Situation, Pauly D, JWOWW, Sammi and Ronni demanded hefty pay raises after the first season became MTV’s highest-rated series.

TMZ previously reported that the cast received a $10,000 signing bonus and $5,000 per episode for the second season, which debuts July 29.

We can’t imagine the kooky characters that will come out of the woodwork to audition for season 3, but there’s little doubt that Ofir will cast the craziest of the bunch.

As for what will become of Snooki and Co., only time will tell, but they should probably make as many of those lucrative club appearances as they can before their 15 minutes of fame run out.

In related news, the world will somehow continue to spin on its axis.
