MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough ripped Donald Trump on Tuesday, calling the president a “jackass” for continued attempts to squash the Russian investigation.
“Morning Joe” aired a clip of Trump telling reporters that he “never mentioned the word Israel” during a recent meeting with Russian officials. Co-host Mika Brzezinski quickly pointed out that nobody accused Trump of simply saying the word Israel.
“If you are scoring at home… trying to divide the actions between malicious and just plain-out stupid, you can put this on the stupid side,” Scarborough said. “This is like the husband that runs into the police station and says, ‘Hey hey hey, my wife’s missing and it’s not my gun at the bottom of the pond in the back of our house.’”
Scarborough continued: “Admitting to something that nobody charged him of, and yet, in so doing, revealed himself as the jackass that leaked top-secret Israeli intel.”
The “Morning Joe” namesake then pointed out that the intelligence Trump allegedly leaked has to do with ISIS, the terror organization that is claiming responsibility for Monday’s tragic attack in Manchester.
“Again, file that under just-plain stupid,” Scarborough said.
The panel eventually compared Trump to Lloyd Christmas, who was Jim Carey’s character in the film “Dumb and Dumber.”
