Comedian and writer Moshe Kasher has joined the cast of the ABC pilot "Spy."
Kasher, a comedian, memoirist and writer on NBC's "The New Normal," will play a coworker of Rob Corddry. Corrdry plays a man who inadvertently takes a job at the secret service in order to prove himself a worthy father to his extremely inteligent son.
Kasher last year released the memoir "Kasher in the Rye," about his efforts to fit in at a predominantly black Oakland, Calif., school as the child of deaf Jews. He soon found himself forming a gang and getting into drugs.
He also co-hosts "The Champs" podcast with "Chappelle Show" co-creator Neal Brennan and Doug "DJ Douggpound" Lussenhop, in which the three white hosts interview a different black guest each week.
The podcast explores race, politics, sex and comedy, as Kasher shares tales of his life as a comedian, writer, and former drug addict. (Full disclosure: It is this writer's favorite podcast.)
