Moran Joins ABC Studios as Head of Drama

Former 20th Century Fox TV drama executive replaces Josh Barry, who likely will stay at ABC

Patrick Moran, formerly senior VP of drama at 20th Century Fox TV, has been named head of drama at ABC Studios, an ABC spokesperson confirmed.

Moran replaces Josh Barry, a 10-year veteran of ABC and ABC Studios. Barry has held the head of drama post for about a year.

The ABC rep said the well-regarded  Barry "will likely stay on in a different capacity."

Moran left his position overseeing drama development at 20th in May, and was replaced by NBC's Michael Thorn, who was named senior VP of drama development.

Moran, who joined 20th in 2003, oversaw pilots including "Lone Star" and "Chaos." He also helped develop "Glee" and "Bones."
