A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away … Okay, make that Wednesday night on “Modern Family,” Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Ty Burrell will apparently experience a major geek-out.
Ferguson shared a sneak peek at tonight’s episode of his ABC sitcom early Wednesday, depicting himself and co-star Burrell sharing a super-fanboy “Star Wars” moment.
According to Ferguson’s summation of things, his character Mitch Pritchett and Burrell’s Phil Dunphy will unleash a heap of “Storm Trooper realness” in this week’s installment.
“Mitch & Phil serving Storm Trooper realness on tonight’s all-new ‘Modern Family,’” Ferguson wrote, adding, “Get excited, mitches.”
The actor included a montage of photos depicting Ferguson and Burrell against a backdrop of stars, lightsabers in their hands, vogue-ing through a series of saucy poses that culminates in the pair wearing Storm Trooper helmets as they share a picture-perfect embrace worthy of a senior prom photo on the Death Star.
Judging from ABC’s description of this week’s episode, it’s unclear how, exactly, the “Star Wars” motif will fit in.
“Haley needs a little motherly advice from Claire as she considers her future with Dylan and her career,” the description reads. “Meanwhile, Jay and Cam’s less than politically correct coaching style earns them a class on sensitivity from Manny and Phil; and Mitch runs into Phil’s nemesis, Gil, at an unlikely place.”
Still, any excuse to watch Ferguson and Burrell bro down and merrily cross sabers is a good one, so dive into the “Star Wars” silliness below.
