Alchemy has acquired U.S. distribution rights to James McTeigue’s terrorism thriller “Survivor,” which stars Milla Jovovich, Pierce Brosnan, Dylan McDermott, Angela Bassett and Robert Forster.
“Survivor,” which will receive a multi-platform release later this year, follows a Foreign Service officer in London as she tries to prevent a terrorist attack in New York. She’s forced to go on the run after she is framed for crimes she didn’t commit.
Charles Winkler, Irwin Winkler, Matt O’Toole and Les Weldon produced “Survivor,” while Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, John Thompson and Jason Bloom executive produced. Phil Shelby wrote the screenplay.
“We’re so pleased to add ‘Survivor’ to our slate,” said Alchemy’s CEO Bill Lee. “It’s a wonderful film that features an all star cast and non-stop action. The acquisition of ‘Survivor’ is a great demonstration of the ongoing relationship between our two companies. We’re thrilled to continue to acquire and release select films from Millennium Films’ production pipeline.”
The deal comes on the heels of Friday’s news that Paramount had pulled Brosnan’s action-adventure movie “The Moon and the Sun” off its release calendar.
