Miley Cyrus said the inspiration for her “Wrecking Ball” music video was Sinead O’Connor’s 1990 music video for “Nothing Compares 2 U,” so it makes sense that someone out there would think to remix both songs together. The new (and possibly better than both) track is called “Nothing Compares to Wrecking Ball.”
The music video mashup from music producer Robin Skouteris perfectly harmonizes both singers’ voices, and their tears.
Will this lead to either burying the hatchet in their online feud that erupted last week when O’Connor wrote an open letter asking Cyrus to stop taking off her clothes, and start being a role model to the young women who look up to her.
Probably not. O’Connor has written her fourth open letter, which demands an apology for Cyrus poking fun of her mental health issues, while Cyrus went on NBC’s “Today Show” on Monday to note she’s not exactly planning on giving O’Connor what she wants.
“You could write as many open letters as you want — that’s really what blogging is,” Cyrus said. “I get open letters every day, it’s nothing too new for me.”
