Donald Trump’s latest Twitter boast isn’t flying with Michael Rapaport.
The “Atypical” star ripped into Trump after the president took credit for a fatality-free 2017 in commercial aviation.
Rapaport didn’t hold back in his critique of the president, calling him a “sick animal.”
Trump hit up Twitter on Tuesday morning to crow about the situation, writing, “Since taking office I have been very strict on Commercial Aviation. Good news – it was just reported that there were Zero deaths in 2017, the best and safest year on record!”
Trump’s tweet was met with a sharp rebuke from the “Atypical” star, who shot back, “You never brought that up once in 2017 you sick animal.”
Rapaport wasn’t the only one to take Trump to task over the tweet.
“You know Trump is a sicko when he takes credit for no aviation deaths instead of crediting pilots, airlines, transportation safety & air traffic control!” wrote activist Bishop Talbert Swan. “What an arrogant, self absorbed egomaniacal little twit!”
Washington Post writer Paul Farhi, meanwhile, noted that there hadn’t been any commercial airline deaths in the U.S. in the seven years previous to 2017, either.
“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” executive producer Andy Lassner, meanwhile, lamented, “There are actual people who read this tweet and believe that this schmuck has something to do with aviation safety. Actual people. Americans. God help us.”

Roughly 63 million people work in the aviation industry around the globe. From pilots to maintenance techs to below wing workers and flight dispatchers, they make aviation safer than ever. Nobody, besides these people, have any right to take credit for this streak of safety. https://t.co/tN04NYHm2X

This deluded moron is taking credit for there being no aviation fatalities worldwide in 2017. There have been no aviation fatalities in the US since 2009. pic.twitter.com/r0quELMxgH

“Very strict on Commercial Aviation.”
What does this even mean? What, if anything, has he done? There hasn’t been a deadly scheduled airline crash in the US since 2009. The 2017 news is a global achievement. https://t.co/phS2xs86hC
