Michael Pena, Alexander Skarsgard’s ‘War on Everyone’ Heads to Saban Films

Saban Films is closing in on the deal to pick up the North American rights to Michael Pena and Alexander Skarsgard‘s “War on Everyone,” TheWrap has learned.

The film premiered at Berlin Film Festival in February and then had its U.S. premiere at SXSW in March. In “War on Everyone,” Pena and Skarsgard play two corrupt cops in New Mexico who blackmail criminals, but things get sinister when they try to intimidate someone who is more dangerous than they are.

“‘War on Everyone’ received great reactions out of both Berlin and SXSW and we feel very lucky to be working with John Michael McDonagh,” Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley said. “The cast unite to create an incredible comedic team which equates to a fun, clever and unique film that will appeal to both broad commercial audiences as well as film enthusiasts.”

The film is produced by Chris Clark, Flora Fernandez Marengo and co-produced by Elizabeth Eves for Reprisal Films. Phil Hunt and Compton Ross also produced for Head Gear Films. Bankside Films is handling international sales.

Bill Bromiley and Ness Saban negotiated deal on behalf of Saban Films. Saban Films recently acquired the domestic rights to Rob Zombie‘s “31” and Renny Harlin’s “Skiptrace.” Their upcoming slate includes “Cell” with John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson and “I Am Wrath” with John Travolta.
