Michael Jackson was known for his infectious melodies, but was he infectious in other ways as well?
The estate of the deceased king of pop was slapped with a $10 million creditor's claim in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, by a woman who alleges that Jackson gave her herpes during a sexual relationship.
In court papers obtained by TheWrap, Shellie Smith alleges that Jacko infected her in the late '70s, when they were intimate with each other.
"In 1979, I started having sexual relations with decedent," Smith's creditor's claim reads. "Shortly thereafter, I began to get blisters on my legs, face and lips. He was my only partner…At this time, I am unable to have a full and vibrant life due to the complications of this disease."
A second creditor's claim also filed by Smith on Thursday identifies the malady as herpes simplex — though, in a seeming blow to her credibility, Smith conflicts with her other claim, this time saying that she and Jackson began their sexual relationship in 1977.
Also seemingly detrimental to Smith's case: According to TMZ, Smith has a habit of filing frivolous claims with regard to Jackson — in January 2010, Smith filed a claim seeking child support, alleging that she and Jackson had been secretly married. Shockingly, the claim was rejected.
Smith is seeking $10 million in her current claims. Which should buy a lot of Valtrex — and whatever other medication that Smith would seem to need.
