“Live with Kelly & Ryan” crushed the former Fox News Channel host’s start on NBC’s “Today” show, besting “Megyn Kelly Today’s” premiere week by a big 43 percent among women 25-54, which is the key demographic for both programs. Those Nielsen numbers count the ratings currency company’s 56 metered markets.
Looking at overall households, the margin of victory was 21 percent in the Disney-ABC syndicated show’s favor. The two shows compete head-to-head in most of those aforementioned metered cities, including all of the 10 largest U.S. markets.
In Week 1, (Megyn) Kelly’s 9 a.m. hour averaged a 0.7 rating among women 25-54. “Live” had a 1.0.
Meanwhile, in households, “Megyn Kelly Today” averaged a 1.9 rating/7 share versus Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest’s 2.3/8.
