Matt Bomer will make his return to HBO, starring in the biopic “Monty Clift,” a network representative told TheWrap.
The developing film will follow the complicated life of actor Montgomery Clift who was in love with a young Elizabeth Taylor.
Bomer recently won praise for his work on HBO’s “The Normal Heart,” chronicling the rise of AIDS in New York. The USA Network’s “White Collar” actor earned a Critics Choice Award and Emmy nomination for his role in the HBO film. He’s also set to reprise his role on the upcoming sequel, “Magic Mike XXL.”
“Love is Strange” duo, Ira Sachs and Mauricio Zacharias, will rewrite the film’s script from Christopher Lovick. Tony Lipp and Alix Madigan of Anonymous Content will executive produce the film alongside Michael Din and Larry Moss.
Bomer is represented by Creative Artists Agency.
