"Guess who's coming on The New Normal as Bryan's sexy ex-boyfriend?" Murphy announced via his Twitter account. "The one and only Matt Bomer!!!"

It is not yet known how many episodes Bomer will appear on, or when he will make his "New Normal" debut.

This won't be the first time that Bomer has worked with Murphy — he appeared on Murphy's musical series "Glee" in the spring, as TV pitchman Cooper Anderson, the big brother of Blaine Anderson.

Murphy has been on a guest-confirming spree Wednesday; earlier in the day, he told his Twitter followers that "Deadwood" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" star Ian McShane will appear in the upcoming season of his FX drama "American Horror Story," to "tussle" with Jessica Lange's character.

"The New Normal" was picked up for a full season earlier this month.
