Ready to meet the “Materialists?”
A24’s buzzy romantic drama, starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal and scheduled to hit theaters this summer, has a brand-new trailer, which you can watch below.
The official synopsis for the movie reads: “A young, ambitious New York City matchmaker [Johnson] finds herself torn between the perfect match [Pascal] and her imperfect ex [Evans].” And judging by the trailer, the sparks are going to fly.
“Materialists” marks the sophomore feature from writer/director Celine Song, whose debut “Past Lives” (also released from A24) was nominated for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay Oscars.
A24 has a big year ahead, with “Opus” and “On Becoming a Guinea Fowl” released earlier this month and “Death of a Unicorn,” “Warfare” and “The Legend of Ochi” (which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival) coming later this spring. Additionally, “Friendship” (starring Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd) and “Bring Her Back” (the sophomore feature from the Philippou brothers) will be coming out in the months ahead.
“Materialists” will arrive exclusively in theaters on June 13.
