With no Game 7 needed to settle the 2021 World Series, Fox went back to its normal Wednesday winner “The Masked Singer.” While the silly singing competition tied CBS’ “Survivor” as the highest-rated show(s) of the night among adults 18-49, NBC won Wednesday outright with its trio of “Chicago” shows.

Fox kept it pretty close in the key demo, but “Alter Ego” dragged down the network’s primetime averages one-tenth of a Nielsen ratings point too much. CBS outdid Fox in terms of total-viewer averages.

Honey Boo Boo and Mama June from “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” reality fame were eliminated last night on “The Masked Singer.” The two filled out the beach ball costume.

NBC was first in ratings with a 0.7 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 6.2 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Chicago Med” at 8 p.m. put up a 0.7 rating and 6.4 million total viewers. “Chicago Fire” at 9 earned a 0.7 rating and 6.8 million total viewers. At 10, “Chicago P.D.” also got a 0.7 rating, but slipped to 5.5 million total viewers.

Fox was second in ratings with a 0.6 and third in total viewers with 3 million. “The Masked Singer” at 8 drew a 0.9 rating and 4 million total viewers. At 9, “Alter Ego” settled for a 0.4 rating and 2 million total viewers.

CBS was third in ratings with a 0.5 and second in total viewers with 3.7 million. “Survivor” at 8 posted a 0.9 rating and 5.2 million total viewers. At 9, “Tough as Nails” had a 0.4 rating and 2.6 million total viewers. “CSI: Vegas” at 10 managed a 0.3 rating and 3.1 million total viewers.

ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.4 and in total viewers with 2.3 million. “The Goldbergs” at 8 landed a 0.6 rating and 3.2 million total viewers. At 9, “The Conners” brought things back up a bit with a 0.5 rating and 3 million total viewers. “Home Economics” at 9:30 had a 0.3 rating and 1.9 million total viewers. At 10, “A Million Little Things” limped to a 0.2 rating and 1.7 million total viewers.

The CW was fifth in ratings with a 0.1 and in total viewers with 557,000. “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” at 8 had a 0.1 rating and 592,000 total viewers. At 9, “Batwoman” got a 0.1 rating and 522,000 total viewers.
