A little over a week before its release, “Eternals” currently sits at 63% on the Tomatometer – the lowest cumulative score a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie has received to date.
At press time, the score was based on 98 reviews of the movie.
“Thor: The Dark World” and “Iron Man 2” — other low-scoring MCU films — sit higher up in the rankings with Tomatometer scores of 66% and 72%, respectively. All three of those scores, however, still mean the movie is “Fresh” in Rotten Tomatoes speak.
Metacritic ranks the MCU films a little bit differently. “Eternals” currently scores a 56 on the site, while “Thor: The Dark World” holds a 54 and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” sits lowest with a score of 53. “Iron Man 2” and “Thor” tie in the ranks with scores of 57. “The Incredible Hulk” has 61; “Iron Man 3” netted 62; “Captain Marvel” and “Ant-Man” both have 64.
IMDB made headlines this week after “Eternals” was review-bombed before its release.
