“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” actress Chloe Bennet plays a girl who is fascinated by superheroes and the organizations surrounding them, but as her character Skye develops it is not just her hair that is different in the second season.
In an early morning installment of Drinking With the Stars on Tuesday, the ABC starlet sat down with TheWrap and dished on the show’s deepest, darkest secrets.

“The huge news on Season 2 is that I have bangs,” she joked.
Skye did get a new haircut in Season 2, but the other big news is that her government agency (SHIELD) was nearly eviscerated after last season’s HYRDA uprising, which began in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and was finally thwarted in the Season 1 finale of “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.”
“It’s a darker season,” Bennet said. “There’s been a time cut. [Clark Gregg’s character Agent Coulson] is now the Director of SHIELD. He’s in charge of the finding the good guys and putting back together SHIELD.”
A promotion like Coulson’s normally comes with a pay increase and a sweet vacation package, but since SHIELD agents became outlaws, the government agency lost funding.

“We’re broke, I think.” Bennet told TheWrap. “It’s super shitty. We’re scrapping for people and resources and ammo and everything. We’re kind of rogue, which makes it more fun for us.”
One of those new resources is New Zealand native Lucy Lawless, who is new to the Marvel universe but spent six season battling monsters as the titular heroine of “Xena: Warrior Princess.”
“She’s awesome,” Bennet said. “She’s really fun. She’s a Kiwi and she brings a lot of energy to set.”
“It’s weird to be in a scene with ‘Mulan’ [and ‘SHIELD’ star Ming-Na Wen] and Xena: Warrior Princess,” she added. “That’s fun.”

The show’s rookie season featured several Marvel movie characters crossing over onto the small screen, including “Thor” star Jaimie Alexander and “The Avengers” stars Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson. Jackson’s Nick Fury played a huge part in the season finale, saving the lives of Agents Fitz and Simmons and also helping Coulson take down HYDRA baddie John Garrett (Bill Paxton).
So, which Marvel movie stars might star alongside Bennet on Season 2? Either Robert Downey Jr. (“Iron Man”) or Chris Pratt (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), she hopes.
“When we were at the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ premiere, he was dancing and just kind of having a good time and I was trying to be part of the cool kids,” she said. “I would love to have him come. Peter Quill, man.”
And, if the tables were turned? Could we see Bennet in Joss Whedon‘s highly anticipated sequel “Avengers: Age of Ultron”?
“I don’t know, as Chloe, what I would do. I’d probably just pee in my pants,” she said. “It would be awkward for everyone. ‘She’s kind of a good actress, but she just peed in the middle of the scene and it was weird.’”
