Amazon Studios has re-upped its overall deal with “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and husband Daniel Palladino, the streamer announced at the Television Critics Association press tour on Wednesday.

“Amy and Dan have a remarkable partnership, grounded in their complete trust in each other and evidenced by the magic they create on-screen — especially with revolutionary roles for women and with their trademark brilliant dialogue,” said Amazon Studios boss Jennifer Salke.  “We celebrate the critical success of ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ and our extended overall deal with them, which will allow our Amazon Prime audience to continue to enjoy their groundbreaking show and future original series from this incredible duo.”

“We did everything we possibly could to scare them off, but nothing worked,” Sherman-Palladino said in a statement. “So now we happily plant our flag in Amazon world.”

“Amazon is now housed at the studio where Amy and I first met,” added Palladino. “How could we consider working anywhere else?  Many thanks to Jen Salke and her entire team for this tremendous opportunity.”

The duo first signed an overall deal to develop and produce new series for Amazon Studios ahead of “Maisel’s” premiere in late 2017. The show has since gone on to receive critical acclaim and stacked up a pile of awards from both the Emmys and the Golden Globes. Amazon announced last year, ahead of the Season 2 premiere, that it had already picked up a third season.

Their previous credits include  “Roseanne,” “The Return of Jezebel James,” the ABC Family dance drama “Bunheads,” as well as the beloved WB series “Gilmore Girls” and its recent Netflix revival “A Year in the Life.”
