Marvel Shifts ‘Thor 3,’ ‘Black Panther’ Release Dates to Accommodate ‘Spider-Man’ Partnership

“Captain Marvel” and “Inhumans” also pushed back

On the heels of the news that Sony and Marvel are partnering on future appearances of Spider-Man, including within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the comic book franchise studio has announced new release dates for currently scheduled upcoming films.

“Thor: Ragnarok,” which had been scheduled for Jul 28, 2017, has been pushed back and will now release on Nov 3, 2017. This is directly making room for Sony’s “Spider-Man” film, which will now open on “Thor’s” original date.

Under the deal, the new Spider-Man will first appear in a Marvel film from Marvel’s Cinematic Universe (MCU) before headlining his own film, produced by Marvel’s Kevin Feige and Sony’s Amy Pascal.
