Marty Ingels, veteran comic actor and husband of Shirley Jones, died Wednesday at the Tarzana Medical Center in the Los Angeles-area following a massive stroke. He was 79.
Ingels was married to “The Partridge Family” star Jones for 40 years, and was stepfather to her three sons, Shaun, Ryan and Patrick Cassidy.
“He often drove me crazy, but there’s not a day I won’t miss him and love him to my core,” Jones said in a statement.

He also had a number of film roles such as “The Busy Body” (1967), the Walter Matthau comedy “A Guide for the Married Man” (1967), and “The Picasso Summer” (1969), starring Albert Finney.
Born Martin Ingerman in March 1936 in New York City, Ingels moved to California after winning on a couple of game shows.
Ingels and Jones lived in Encino, California, with their three dogs.
