Martin Shkreli would like to say that you have been deceived.
A video went viral over the weekend of Shkreli being hit in the face with what the person who uploaded the video said was dog poop. It happened Friday night on the UC Davis campus, where Shkreli –the indicted former pharmaceutical representative often called the “Pharma Bro” — was to appear on Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos’ college speaking tour.
The protester who threw something at Shkreli called him a “piece of s—.” But Shkreli says that isn’t what hit him.
“There was no poop thrown, unfortunately. This is what they call ‘fake news,’” Shkreli told Mashable. “There was something thrown — my security determined it to be leaves, which I brushed off. The lack of smell, stain or other obvious findings eliminates the possibility.”
Shkreli and Yiannopoulos’ event, which was hosted by the UC Davis College Republicans, was cancelled after protesters blocked access to the venue. Yiannopoulos joined his fans at a counter-protest on the UC Davis campus on Saturday.
Shkreli, the former CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals
Shkreli’s trial is set to begin June 26.
He also made headlines when Turing Pharmaceuticals raised the price of a life-saving AIDS medication from $13.50 per pill to $750 per pill.
You can judge for yourself just what came into contact with Pharma Bro’s face in the video below.
