You can’t keep a good TV host off the small-screen for long: Fired Hallmark “Home & Family” host Mark Steines will co-anchor Wednesday’s “Extra,” the celebrity and entertainment show tweeted today.

Here is the tweet, complete with footage of an excited Steines getting some makeup applied:

“I’m shining,” he says in the mini-tease.

And then Tanika Ray compares him to Patrick Swayze, we think.

Steines hosted “Extra” competitor “Entertainment Tonight” for a decade before moving to Hallmark for “Home & Family,” where he was surprisingly and unceremoniously shown the door late last month. TheWrap exclusively reported the details of how that went down, and why he was let go.

The long and the short of it is that Hallmark Channel decided to change the creative direction of the series Steines helped build. That means finding a new co-host for Debbie Matenopoulos, who was also shocked and saddened by the sudden separation from her friend and colleague. It was all pretty poorly orchestrated, or at least that is how the optics appeared.

After a self-imposed hiatus, Steines returned to social media last week to celebrate his birthday. (And maybe his body, just a little bit. Hey, the dude is 54-years-old — you’d be feeling like Superman too.)
