Margot Robbie, who played DC Comics heroine Harley Quinn in Warner Bros.’ “Suicide Squad,” has signed a first look deal with the studio, TheWrap has learned.
The deal will allow the Australian-born actress to produce feature films through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner. Robbie first burst onto the scene and made a splash in Martin Scorsese‘s “Teh Wolf of Wall Street.”
Robbie has neo noir thriller “Terminal” currently in postproduction, which is her first film as a producer.
Robbie also has biopic “I, Tonya” in development and will play tarnished figure skater Tonya Harding along with producing the film. She is also developing an adaptation of Matt Ruff’s novel “Bad Monkeys” at Universal Pictures.
Robbie already has two projects set at Warner as an actress — a Harley Quinn spinoff film that may feature the other DC heroines that she will exec produce, along with an adaptation of Dean N. Jensen’s “Queen of the Air: A True Story of Love and Tragedy at the Circus” which she is attached to headline.
Producing with Robbie for LuckyChap Entertainment are Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr.
Robbie is repped by CAA, Management 360, and attorney Jeff Bernstein of Jackoway Tyerman.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news of Robbie’s deal.
