NBC has picked up the Dan Fogelman dramedy “This Is Us” to series.

The series stars Mandy Moore (“A Walk to Remember”), Milo Ventimiglia (“Heroes,” “Gilmore Girls”) and Sterling K. Brown (“American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson”) as a unique ensemble whose paths cross and life stories intertwine in curious ways. We find that several of them share the same birthday, and so much more than anyone would expect.

Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan and Ron Cephas Jones also star.

Fogelman serves as writer and executive producer on the series. Jess Rosenthal, Charlie Gogolak and directors John Requa and Glenn Ficarra also executive produce. “This Is Us” is produced by 20th Century Fox Television.

Among the network’s previous pickups are the DC Comics comedy “Powerless,” starring Vanessa Hudgens; “Trial & Error,” starring John Lithgow and Nicholas D’Agosto; and Dick Wolf‘s fourth “Chicago” series, “Chicago Justice.
