Mandeville, Top Cow in Talks to Sell Comic Book Thriller to Summit

“Crosshair” centers on a CIA agent who learns that in two days, he will turn into a killing machine bent on assassinating the president

Mandeville Films and Top Cow Productions are in talks with Summit Entertainment to have the studio buy a project based on the comic book "Crosshair," TheWrap has learned.

Disney-based Mandeville teamed with Top Cow to develop the project at the Comic-Con last summer, where the comic book debuted.

According to ItsontheGrid.com, a division of TheWrap, the thriller is about a CIA agent — now a suburban father — who learns that he has 48 hours until a program in his brain turns him into a killing machine bent on assassinating the president.

Marc Silvestri, Top Cow's CEO, created "Crosshair." Jeff Katz wrote the book, which Silvestri and Allan Jefferson illustrated.

"Crosshair" is the second Top Cow project Mandeville has set up at Summit.

In 2009, the studio bought "Alibi," a thriller about a socialite whose high profile is a cover for his secret twin brother, a government assassin.

Top Cow's 2008 comic book adaptation "Wanted," a Universal release, made $341 million at the worldwide box office.

Mandeville produced 2010's Academy Award-winning "The Fighter."
