‘Man of Steel’ Release Date Pushed Back

Warner Bros. will open the Superman reboot in June 2013

Warner Brothers is pushing back the release of its Superman reboot “Man of Steel,” the studio announced on Thursday.

The Zack Snyder film was originally slated to fly into theaters in December 2012, but the studio will now open the superhero movie on June 14, 2013.

It currently has the date to itself, although Disney and Pixar will launch its “Monsters Inc.” sequel “Monster’s University” the next weekend.

“Man of Steel” stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crow as Jor-El and Michael Shannon as the villain General Zod. Snyder, who previously directed “Sucker Punch” and “300,” will slide behind the camera.
