“MacGyver” star George Eads has exited the CBS drama after two and a half seasons, an individual with knowledge of the matter tells TheWrap.
Eads has co-starred on the series alongside lead Lucas Till, portraying MacGyver’s field partner Jack Dalton, since the show’s start in 2016.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported Eads’ departure, the actor stormed off the set in October after an unspecified “altercation” and had since voiced a desire to part ways with the show. His final episode is expected to air in 2019.
This is not the first time Eads has exited a show amid conflict. A longtime CBS mainstay, he was one of the original stars of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”
Eads played Nick Stokes on the crime procedural for 15 seasons but took a leave of absence toward the end of the show’s run after an on-set confrontation with one of the show’s writers. It was later announced that he would not return to the show following Season 15, and he did not participate in the two-hour series finale.
Representatives for Eads and CBS declined to comment on the reason his departure.
