Ludacris is the latest high-profile star to snag a guest spot on the hit Fox series “Empire” for Season 2.

The “Furious 7” actor took to Instagram Wednesday to share the news along with a first look photo from the set with series star Terrence Howard.

Howard’s Lucious Lyon was sent to prison for murder at the end of the show’s first season, and from the looks of the photo, Ludacris will play a cop who crosses paths with him — at least at first glance.

“Empire” was a ratings record breaker for Fox. The show’s finale achieved a 6.5 rating, drawing in 16.7 million total viewers. The show also broke a 23-year ratings record, as it is the only primetime scripted series to grow in total viewers over each of its first five telecasts.

Earlier this month, series co-star Taraji P. Henson was nominated for an Emmy for Best Actress for her role as Cookie Lyon.

“Empire” returns for a second season on Sept. 23.

Ludacris, who is also a rapper, played tech genius Tej in three installments of the “Fast and the Furious” franchise, including the most recent “Furious 7.” He is represented by CAA.
