The photo reveals what looks like a cybernetic arm of an unnamed character. The caption under the image reads “metal.”
From the looks of it, the cybernetic arm belongs to one of the Reavers, the anti-mutant cyborg group that will serve as the antagonists in the film.
Specifically, the cybernetic arm could belong to the group’s leader, Donald Pierce, who will be portrayed by Boyd Holbrook.
In the comics, The Reavers are among the shortlist of X-Men villains that have managed to inflict real damage against Wolverine.
Back when the X-Men were covertly operating out of an abandoned town in the Australian outback, the Reavers launched a sneak attack meant to take the entire X-Men team by surprise. Instead they found Wolverine there alone. He couldn’t fend off Donald Pierce and his cyborg henchman, and was subsequently crucified and left to die.
Director James Mangold has been tweeting out black-and-white images of the production, of which the final title and several plot details were recently revealed, along with the first trailer.
Jackman first played the character in 2000’s “X-Men” and reprised the role in subsequent sequels, as well as standalone films “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and “The Wolverine.”
“Logan” hits theaters on Mar. 3.
