Lionsgate and Wrekin Hill Entertainment announced Monday that they have entered into a home entertainment distribution deal including DVD, Blu-ray, digital delivery, and video on demand.
Lionsgate will become the exclusive home entertainment distributor for all domestic Wrekin Hill Entertainment theatrical releases.
Wrekin Hill is the newly established distribution company founded by Chris Ball, former head of Exclusive Media Group and co-founder of Newmarket Films.
In September, when Ball announced he was striking out on his own, he said that Wrekin Hill will jointly release titles, including the upcoming Peter Weir film "The Way Back" and "Hesher," a recent Sundance acquisition.
Ball said the new company would shortly announce several acquistions, and that Lionsgate will help distribute these films.
The deal was negotiated by Rene Cogan on behalf of Wrekin Hill and by Wendy Jaffe, executive vice president, business & legal affairs, acquisitions & co-productions, on behalf of Lionsgate.
