Lionsgate TV Promotes Scott Herbst to Head of Scripted Development, Jocelyn Sabo to SVP of TV

Herbst will oversee development of company’s scripted series across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms

Lionsgate Television has promoted exec Scott Herbst to head of scripted development and Jocelyn Sabo to senior vice president of television, Lionsgate Television Group chairman Kevin Beggs said Tuesday.

Herbst will continue to report to Beggs and oversee the development of Lionsgate’s scripted series across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms. “He and his team are responsible for identifying and developing premium content for an array of buyers and leveraging the company’s production partnerships, including its 3 Arts Entertainment and Point Grey Pictures relationships, to create projects that can break through the clutter and resonate with global audiences,” according to Lionsgate.

Before joining Lionsgate, Herbst served as Vice President of Scripted Programming for NBCU International where he produced series like You, Me and the Apocalypse for NBC/Sky and Glitch for Netflix/The ABC. During his tenure, he oversaw London Spy for BBC/BBC America and developed and sold Hanna to Amazon, which is going into its second season. Prior to NBCU, Herbst was Vice President of Development at Lakeshore Films where he helped build the studio’s television department after having worked on films like The Lincoln Lawyer and Stand Up Guys.
