Lindsay Lohan Pulls an ‘Overboard’ in First Trailer for Netflix’s ‘Falling for Christmas’ (Video)

And gets a small “Mean Girls” reference in, too

Lindsay Lohan is back and singing “Jingle Bell Rock” once more — but it’s not a direct tribute to “Mean Girls.” This time, it’s for her new holiday rom-com, “Falling for Christmas.” In this movie, it’s less “Mean Girls” and more “Overboard.”

In “Falling for Christmas,” set to hit Netflix this November, Lohan plays Sierra Belmont, the self-described “spoiled daughter of the hotel magnate.” But for her part, she really is trying to change that, openly saying that that’s not all she wants to be remembered for. Flash forward, and she’s being proposed to on top of a mountain — a very snowy and windy mountain.

A particularly big gust sends her skiing over the edge, only to be found at the bottom later, with no memory of who she is. Worry not though; as with any good Christmassy rom-com, she was found by a handsome man who gives sleigh rides and happens to own a lodge she can stay in while she recovers. That man is played by “Glee” alum Chord Overstreet.

On “doctor’s orders,” he has Sierra do “normal” things, like making a bed — which she quickly realizes she’s never done before. Still, she’s charming and his daughter quickly determines that he has feelings for Sierra.

What follows is a love story complete with every Christmas activity necessary, from mini-marshmallow fights over hot cocoa, to visiting a local Christmas market, to conveniently ending up under mistletoe and more.

Of course, the people Sierra knew and loved in her original life do eventually find her, and she’ll have to reconcile her new and old self. Janeen Damian (“A Christmas Waltz”) is directing “Falling for Christmas,” and Michael Damian, Jeff Bonnett and Ron Oliver wrote the screenplay.
