Another version of "Law & Order" is hitting the airwaves, this one with an accent. BBC America said Thursday it is bringing "Law & Order: UK" to the U.S.
The first of 26 episodes will debut Sunday, Oct. 3, with subsequent episodes premiering Fridays.
Series scripts are based on episodes from the U.S. but adapted for the British legal system. The show debuted on British network ITV in 2009.
"Law & Order: UK" is produced by Kudos, Wolf Films and NBC Universal and distributed by NBC Universal Domestic TV Distribution.
In May, NBC canceled the original "Law & Order" after 20 seasons. On the same day, the network announced it would debut "Law & Order: Los Angeles." That series will air Wednesdays beginning Sept. 29. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" are also still on the air.
