Sometimes stunts succeed. The final two episodes of NBC’s three-piece drama crossover both saw 50 percent increases in the key demo on Wednesday, even higher than Tuesday’s lift for “Chicago Fire.”
“Law & Order: SVU” rose 50 percent exactly from last week, while the crossover finale on “Chicago PD” jumped 57 percent. As a result, NBC topped the night in both ratings and viewers, despite a down “Voice.”
NBC was first in ratings with a 2.4 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 10 million, according to preliminary numbers. The special “Voice” at 8 p.m. earned a 2.5/8 and night-high 10.6 million viewers. “Law & Order: SVU” at 9 scored a 2.4/7 and 10 million viewers. “Chicago PD” at 10 received a 2.2/7 and 9.5 million viewers.
ABC was second in ratings with a 2.1/6 and third in viewers with 7.4 million. “The Middle” at 8 had a 1.9/6 and 8.1 million viewers. “The Goldbergs” at 8:30 got a 2.1/6 and 7.5 million viewers. “Modern Family” at 9 earned a night-high 3.1/9 and had 9.8 million viewers. “Black-ish” at 9:30 received a 2.5/7 and 7.9 million viewers. “Nashville” at 10 had a 1.4/5 and 5.6 million viewers.
CBS was third in ratings with a 2.0/6 and second in viewers with 8.8 million. “Survivor” at 8 earned a 2.3/7 and 9.4 million viewers. “Criminal Minds” at 9 received a 2.3/7 and 10.1 million viewers. “Stalker” at 10 got a 1.4/4 and 7 million viewers.
Fox was fourth in ratings with a 1.2/4 and in viewers with 3.3 million. “Hell’s Kitchen” at 8 had a 1.5/5 and 3.7 million viewers. “Red Band Society” at 9 got a 0.9/3 and 2.8 million viewers.
Univision was fifth in ratings with a 1.1/4 and in total viewers with 2.9 million.
The CW was sixth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and in total viewers with 2.2 million. “Arrow” at 8 received a 0.9/3 and 2.6 million viewers. “The 100” at 9 got a 0.6/2 and 1.8 million viewers.
Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in total viewers with 1.4 million.
