Fox has set its winter schedule, which includes the return of Tim Allen’s “Last Man Standing,” the third season premiere of “The Masked Singer” and the debuts of six new series: “Flirty Dancing,” “Deputy,” “9-1-1: Lone Star,” “Outmatched,” “Lego Masters” and “Duncanville.”
Animated series “Duncanville” will premiere on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8:30 p.m., taking over the slot of fellow freshman cartoon “Bless the Harts,” which just ended its initial 13-episode order. “Bless the Harts” has already been renewed for Season 2, so it will be back next year.
Rob Lowe-led “9-1-1” spinoff “9-1-1: Lone Star” will make its series debut with a two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 19 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT, following the NFC Championship Game, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. It’s taking “9-1-1’s” spot, but just for now, as the Fox first-responder series will return this spring after its usual hiatus.
Tuesdays will still belong to “The Resident” at 8 p.m., but “Empire” will be going on its regular winter hiatus to make room for the season premiere of “Gordan Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back” on Jan. 7 at 9 p.m.
“The Masked Singer” will return with its third season premiere following the Super Bowl on Feb. 2, and head back to its regular 8 o’clock home on Wednesdays starting Feb. 5. While you wait for Season 3 to debut, you can enjoy Jenna Dewan’s new reality dating series, “Flirty Dancing,” which premieres on Sunday, Dec. 29 at 8 p.m. before moving to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays on Jan. 1. It will be followed by “Masked Singer’s” current lead-out, freshman drama “Almost Family,” at 9 p.m., which will finish its initial 13-episode order on Jan. 29. (We’re told no decision has been made yet regarding a back-half for the show’s first season.) “Masked Singer” will then be paired with the new competition series “Lego Masters” on Feb. 5.
Following the end of “Thursday Night Football” on Dec. 12 and several weeks of reruns, “Last Man Standing” Season 8 — its second on Fox, as it was formerly canceled by ABC — premieres with back-to-back episodes on Thursday, Jan. 2. Fans will remember the sitcom aired on Fridays during the 2018-19 season, but that slot is now occupied by “Friday Night SmackDown,” which made its debut on the network in October. Following the premiere of “Last Man,” David Ayer’s police drama “Deputy,” starring Stephen Dorff, will debut at 9 p.m. New Jason Biggs sitcom “Outmatched” will fill out Thursdays, premiering at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 23.
Fridays aren’t changing, still dominated by “SmackDown.”
The network will continue to celebrate New Year’s Eve with Steve Harvey.
