Lana Del Rey Sings Sultry ‘Once Upon a Dream’ Rendition for New ‘Maleficent’ Preview (Video)

The haunting melody, which originally appeared in Disney’s 1959 animated classic “Sleeping Beauty,” will play during the upcoming live-action film’s end credits

A new preview for “Maleficent” not only teases Angelina Jolie‘s wicked portrayal of Disney’s most infamous villain, but Lana Del Rey’s sultry rendition of the classic “Sleeping Beauty” tune, “Once Upon a Dream.”

A snippet of the new song from the Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy nominee debuted during a commercial break of the 56th annual Grammy Awards on CBS, and is available for free for a limited time on Google Play. The song can be downloaded from Google’s digital storefront now through Feb. 3.

“Maleficent,” which hits theaters on May 30, explores the untold story of the wicked fairy godmother who cast a curse on Princess Aurora in Disney’s 1959 animated classic, “Sleeping Beauty.”

Elle Fanning, Sharlto CopleySam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville co-star with Jolie in the live-action spinoff  produced by Joe Roth and directed by Robert Stromberg.
