Lady Gaga exchanged heated words with Piers Morgan on social media this week, after the British media personality cast doubt on the “Bad Romance” singer’s account that she had been raped.
“I remain sceptical [sic] about Madonna & Lady Gaga‘s claims,” Morgan tweeted on Monday.”I wouldn’t automatically believe anything either Madonna or Lady Gaga claimed about their lives.”
Morgan went on to suggest that the singers should “name names and/or report to police.”
Last week, Gaga revealed that she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder as the result of having been raped at age 19.
Madonna, a frequent target of Morgan’s poison-pen tweets, has also recalled being raped in the past.
On Tuesday, after being doubted by Morgan, Gaga sought to set the record straight, writing, “@piersmorgan I’ve work w/ our VP Joe Biden on helping educate people about why women don’t report, would love to share it w/ you some time.”
Despite the tense situation, Morgan took Gaga up on the offer, suggesting that they “do an interview” on the topic.
“OK, you’re on. Let’s do an interview about this & you can tell me why I’m wrong to be sceptical [sic],” Morgan shot back.
“@piersmorgan Let’s do that & yes Mr. Morgan, I can handle u,” Gaga replied. “Surprised you would question that. Was that the 1st question of our interview?”
Despite doubting the singer, Morgan expressed his admiration for her — albeit with a touch of snark, with a reference to a certain past wardrobe choice of Gaga’s.
“I rather admire @ladygaga for agreeing to an interview after my criticisms,” Morgan wrote. “Should be a fascinating debate. I’ll press my meat suit.”

I don’t know who you are, let alone tell you that you weren’t raped.

@piersmorgan would also love to talk with you about PTSD, that it’s not just a “military” disorder. There is a mental health youth epidemic.

I didn’t say they lied, I said I remain sceptical.
They should name names and/or report to police. https://t.co/prqwWDJEvD— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 12, 2016
