The most important show of all time is upon us. No, not Super Bowl LI — the halftime show. And it was kinda lit.
Lady Gaga, dressed in an over-the-top bedazzled jumpsuit, kicked off the Super Bowl halftime show by singing a verse from “God Bless America” before transitioning to a snippet of Woody Guthrie’s “This Land is Your Land” as she stood on the roof of Reliant Stadium. Glowing drones formed the image of the American flag illuminated behind her as she sang the line “this land was made for you and me,” in what could probably be taken as a low-key jab at Donald Trump’s #MuslimBan.

The 30-year-old artist then turned up the energy a bit by jumping off the roof (with the help of wires and a safety harness, of course) onto what will probably be the most watched stage in America in 2017. She transitioned into her single “Poker Face” and then went into “Born this Way,” which is pretty much an anthem for the LGBTQ community. After singing “Telephone” and then picking up a guitar to perform “Just Dance” with some pretty energetic dance moves, Gaga mellowed things out a bit.
She sat down at a piano — well kinda sat down, as she was actually kneeling on the instrument’s bench — on stage and sang “Million Reasons” and gave a shout out to her parents. Super cute.
Gaga quick changed, and we mean like lightening fast quick changed, into a bedazzled bikini bottom and a white umm … fashion forward-esque top to perform one of her most iconic singles “Bad Romance” with a crew of background dancers all donned in white. Oh, there was also fire. Lots of fire.
And that was it.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, there were no special guests, no hidden innuendos just Lady Gaga on a stage singing and dancing.
But the people loved it, including Joe Biden.
Incredible performance from my friend @LadyGaga. You amaze me — and not just onstage. Proud to work with you to end sexual assault. #ItsOnUs pic.twitter.com/ZOva2lpAOZ
