Lady Gaga struck back at her body shamers with a message of personal acceptance.
“I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too,” Gaga wrote on Instagram. “No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don’t need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That’s the stuff of champions. thank you so much everyone for supporting me. I love you guys. Xoxo, gaga.”
Following Gaga’s Super Bowl LI halftime show on Sunday, some internet trolls decided to mock her appearance and her “flabby belly.” But Gaga fans weren’t about to let that stand and immediately came to her defense.
Calling her body “spectacular,” fans basically said that anyone who hated on the singer for not having the “perfect” stomach needed to get a life.
Gaga is most likely brushing the haters off with ease, thanks in no small part to the fact that her performance at the Super Bowl caused a massive spike in her album sales.
Shortly after the performance, Gaga also announced that she will be launching a world tour in August in support of her latest album, “Joanne,” and will perform a duet with Metallic at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony.
