Kyle Davies is leaving Relativity Media to become head of domestic distribution at Paramount, multiple individuals familiar with the situation have told TheWrap.
Davies does not have a deal in place just yet but his hiring has been viewed as a mere formality in recent weeks, according to insiders. He’ll work under Megan Colligan, who runs worldwide marketing and distribution.
Davies served as president of worldwide distribution at Relativity and EuropaCorp’s joint venture, and spent the last six months negotiating his exit with Ryan Kavanaugh and Luc Besson. Greg Forston, currently an EVP at Relativity, is expected to take over distribution at the struggling film company.
Davies was behind films such as “Limitless” and “Immortals” while at Relativity. He previously worked for Overture before Relativity acquired that company, and already has a stint at Paramount on his resume.
Relativity is in the process of emerging from bankruptcy, and the company has still not closed its deals with Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti.
