“The Eternals” star Kumail Nanjiani got absolutely shredded and vascular for his role in the Marvel superhero movie, the actor revealed on Instagram Monday.
“I never thought I’d be one of those people who would post a thirsty shirtless, but I’ve worked way too hard for way too long so here we are,” said Nanjiani.” “You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. I found out a year ago I was going to be in Marvel’s Eternals and decided I wanted to transform how I looked. I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world. I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before.”
The actor is best known for his comedy roles, including Dinesh in “Silicon Valley” and a fictionalized version of himself in “The Big Sick,” for which he earned an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay. He recently branched out into the action genre with the buddy cop action comedy “Stuber.”
Created by comic legend Jack Kirby in 1976, the Eternals are a race of ancient human beings created a million years ago by the cosmic entities known as the Celestials. The film is currently in production and Nanjiani plays the celestial known as Kingo. Marvel Studios premiered footage from the superhero movie at the recent Comic-Con Experience Brazil which featured a snippet of Kingo in action.
“The Eternals” will be released on November 6, 2020.
