The Los Angeles Police Department served a warrant at the home of Kiss frontman Gene Simmons on Thursday morning that was executed by the agency’s Internet Crimes against Children Task Force, but police stress Simmons and his family are not suspects in the investigation.

The Simmons family was described as “extremely cooperative,” according to CBSLA.

Simmons’ representative Cheyanne Baker released a statement indicating that police spoke to the family about a “crime that may have occurred on their property last year while Simmons was away on tour with Kiss,” the network reported.

“Neither Mr. Simmons nor any member of his family is a person of interest in the investigation,” Baker said, adding that “they are cooperating fully with the investigation.”

Shannon Tweed Simmons took to Twitter to reassure fans, saying “Thanks for your support. We couldn’t be more horrified that someone used our residence for such heinous crimes. Law enforcement is on it.”

Gene Simmons also tweeted news updates on the situation from his own account.

Best known as Kiss frontman and bassist, Simmons also starred in A&E reality television show “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” with his wife and two children.
