Kirk Cameron Is ‘Saving Christmas’ in New Trailer (Video)

Cameron’s character will speak up for those outraged by non-denominational expressions including “happy holidays” and “seasons greetings”

Some conservatives have made a holiday tradition of calling out a supposed “war on Christmas,” and Kirk Cameron is reporting for duty in the first trailer for alleged comedy “Saving Christmas.”

“Do you ever feel like Christmas has been hijacked by all the commercialism, and those who want to replace ‘merry Christmas’ with ‘happy holidays’ or ‘seasons greetings’ — whatever that means?” Cameron says in the preview (above).

“Some want to pull down every manger scene and tell us why all of our favorite traditions are wrong,” Cameron adds. “Isn’t it time somebody spoke up?”

It’s not clear how Cameron’s character will speak to the masses enjoying the December tradition, regardless of their particular religious beliefs, because the trailer just features two guys complaining in a car about how un-Christmassy Christmas has become. Then people have a dance-off in front of a pretty Christmas tree.

According to a synopsis of the film, audiences will join a family dancing, celebrating, feasting, and carrying on traditions that glorify the true “reason for the season.” They will walk away “strongly against a culture that wants to trivialize and eliminate the faith elements of this holy season.”

Samuel Goldwyn Films is releasing the former “Growing Pains” star’s latest faith-based adventure. It comes to theaters on Nov. 14 for a limited engagement.
