“24” alum Kim Raver has been set to lead ABC drama pilot “The Advocate,” TheWrap has learned.
The medical drama will be spearheaded by Sheldon Turner, who wrote the pilot and will executive produce along with Jennifer Klein of Vendetta Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
Story follows type-A business woman Francis “Frankie” Reese (Raver), who has a medical scare, only to be dangerously misdiagnosed leading her to experience first-hand the hazards of our healthcare system.
Shocking her friends and family, Frankie leaves her career behind, becoming instead a brilliant and relentless advocate for anyone caught in the chaotic and ever-changing maze that is modern medicine.
Michael M. Robin will direct the pilot.
Raver is known for her roles on TV’s “24,” “Third Watch” and “Grey’s Anatomy.” She is represented by WME.
