Scandal-plagued actor Kevin Spacey, who was dropped from the Netflix drama “House of Cards” following accusations of sexual misconduct, has now been sued by an anonymous man, accusing the actor of sexual battery.
According to the suit, which in addition to sexual battery alleges gender violence, battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment, the plaintiff was contacted by someone on Spacey’s behalf in October 2016 to make arrangements for a massage for Spacey at a Malibu, California, residence. Upon arriving, the suit says, Spacey led the plaintiff to a room, where he set up his massage table.
The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, says that Spacey returned in a robe, locked the door and, when asked if there were any problem areas the Plaintiff should be aware of, said that he was “having some pain or discomfort in his groin area.”
The suit goes on to allege that, even though he was instructed to lay face-down on the massage table, he laid facing up and, as the plaintiff massaged Spacey’s leg, the actor pulled the plaintiff’s hand “onto Spacey’s scrotum and testicles, which Plaintiff was forced by Spacey’s action to touch.”
According to the suit the Plaintiff pulled away but decided to give Spacey the benefit of the doubt and continued the massage. After which, the suit says, “Spacey again grabbed Plaintiff’s hand, but this time forced Plaintiff’s hand to rub his penis, scrotum and testicles.”
After the plaintiff protested, the suit alleges, Spacey rose from the table and grabbed the plaintiff’s shoulders “for what felt to Plaintiff like an attempted kiss.” According to the suit, the defendant backed away from the actor, who grabbed the plaintiff’s genitals over his clothing “and said words to the effect [of] ‘just let me give you a blow job.’”
“As a direct and proximate result of Spacey’s unlawful conduct as alleged hereinabove, Plaintiff suffered and continues to suffer economic harm, loss of earnings and other damages,” the suit states.
The suit seeks unspecified damages.
TheWrap has attempted to reach out to comment for a representative for Spacey for comment on the suit.
Spacey has been accused of sexual misconduct multiple times, including by actor Anthony Rapp, who accused Spacey of molesting him as a teen.
Earlier this month, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said that it had declined to pursue a case in which he was accused of sexually assaulting someone in 1992, citing the statue of limitations. However, the D.A.’s office said in August that it was looking into a second sexual assault case against Spacey.
Scotland Yard has also said it is investigating multiple sexual assault accusations against the actor.
