Fans of Kevin Smith‘s cult hit “Mallrats” got a treat on Friday when Smith released a photo featuring himself, Stan Lee, Michael Rooker and Jason Mewes, all of whom starred in the film.
While many hoped the group had united to discuss “Mallrats 2,” which Smith said in a recent interview he plans to make, sadly it was not the case.
According to Smith’s official Facebook page, “[All] four of us gathered to shoot a really adorable Stan-centric spot for Audi that you’ll see online as we get closer to the release of Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron.’”
During an interview with Tucson’s Rock 102 KFMA, Smith said he is already working on the script for the “Mallrats” sequel, and apparently the idea was borne out of Smith’s desire to entertain himself. “Lately I’ve been doing this thing where I’m like, ‘Do you want to do what’s good for your career, or do you just want to have fun?’”
Smith will begin shooting “Clerks III” in May. He is currently in post-production on “Yoga Hosers,” which stars his daughter, Harley Quinn Smith, and Lily-Rose Melody Depp, the daughter of Johnny Depp.
