Kevin Smith‘s comedy pilot “Hollyweed” has completed production, TheWrap has learned.

The half-hour pilot, written and directed by Smith, is set in a Los Angeles marijuana dispensary. Smith and Donnell Rawlings star as two friends who recruit the help of a porn star, played by Frankie Shaw, to help them manage their small business. Kristin Bauer van Straten also stars as the dispensary’s cookie magnate neighbor.

The pilot is produced by FremantleMedia North America and StarStream Media.

Produced on spec, the pilot was financed by FremantleMedia and five companies in the cannabis industry, including a rolling paper manufacturer, a medical marijuana social media site, a vaporizer manufacturer, a marijuana seed company and a cannabis oil company.

Smith serves as executive producer with StarStream’s Peter Pietrangeli, Kim Leadford and Dan McCarney, alongside Jana Edelbaum and Rachel Cohen.

Among the other marijuana-related projects in development are an untitled comedy from “Big Bang Theory” creator Chuck Lorre; Adam and Naomi Scott’s “Buds” at NBC, and “Highland,” starring Margaret Cho at Amazon.
